In heraldry<\/a>on blazon<\/strong> is a description identifying its holder, which can be represented on a ecu<\/a>a armour<\/a>a banner<\/a> or a tabar<\/a>. It is also referred to asweapons<\/em>s, the coat of arms<\/a> designating the shield and its external ornaments. The coat of arms is a sign of recognition of the individual or his family, particularly used by knights in the Middle Ages<\/a>. However, this symbol is not reserved for them: in France, it is not necessary to be from the nobility<\/a> to create a coat of arms. Commoners created coats of arms from the beginning of the xiii<\/abbr>e<\/sup> century<\/a>the bourgeoisie being imitated by the simple peasants from the xiv<\/abbr>e<\/sup> century<\/a>. Cities also create them, as do certain administrations and corporations. The rule is not to usurp the arms of others1<\/a><\/sup>. This personal identification became hereditary in the male lines from about 1130 onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
